Mobile technician versus service centre - wait times

My driver side door handle has failed again on my 2018 Model S.

Last Sunday I booked an appointment at West Drayton for Friday - less than one week wait - but was contacted on Monday and told that it could be done by a mobile tech.

I (stupidly) did not ask what the wait time would be for that when I agreed to it, but the text I got back said they would be in contact “soon”.

No contact yet. I feel like I should have stuck with the service centre appointment, although I don’t know if I had a choice.

So I took the initiative and just rebooked another appointment via the app for a mobile tech. He came yesterday and had the handle fixed in about 40 minutes! Super friendly and professional.

As I’ve found before, Tesla are a PITA to contact, but when you get to deal with a real service person they do a great job.

I get the impression that many of the frontline staff are as equally as frustrated as us about how Tesla treat their customers. Shame that there are also some jobsworths around too.
