My Model S 19” wheel was $560 including GST and the TPMS sensor was circa $110.
I bent a rim recently when I missed seeing a pothole that was shaded by a tree.
I decided to buy a new rim and TPMS as this will allow me to use the repaired bent rim as a spare.
I bought one a couple of months ago. For just a kerbing I wouldn’t bother. Probably can get a repair for less than $200.
My invoice has:
Wheel: $509.09
TPMS: $109.09
TPMS “nut”: $1
That doesn’t include the aero cover.
fwiw, I bought it as a spare to have at home - I already had the tyre since I needed to replace a pair. Checked gumtree/Facebook and all I could find was people wanting $450 for terribly scratched and banged up old ones.
As as person who thinks cars are 'radio on wheels', do I firstly take off the cover, then use various grits of sandpaper to get this smooth. If so which grits?
