Model 3 browser

I’ve just purchased my model 3 and got carlinkit for apple CarPlay. However once I put it into drive, the browser disappears. Am I missing something or that’s how the Tesla works, disabling the browser. I’ve seen video where people are using the browser while driving.

I don't have problems using the browser while driving, but I usually bring up the browser WHILE driving. I'm trying to recall if I've noticed the browser going away when shifting into D...regardless, just bring the browser back up after you shift.

In Australia, a web browser isn’t allowed to be visible to the driver (in any car) while the car is in gear, only when parked.

Thanks, that’s what I thought. The Carlinkit is unusable now.

Yes, I can’t get it to work either. Mines just sitting in its box and can’t resell it to anyone in Australia.

Sorry to pour more salt into the wound but when I have looked at that product in the past I did see warnings on the website about not being able to use it in Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and others... It might have been buried a bit though.

Totally batshit crazy that Tesla does not have android auto as a factory app. Australia does not ban android auto.
