One prominent YouTuber sold his 3yr old M3 for a 32% depreciated value and it took him 4 months to do so. That’s pretty in line with ICE depreciation.
That said, it still comes out ahead of a lease, except...
-don’t throw money into mods
-don’t throw money into PPF and paint coatings
If you’re purchasing and dumping any cash into the car, you’re narrowing the gap between your total spend and how much a guy like me who won’t put a dime into it will spend leasing it and getting a new one in 3 years.
I’m leasing knowing full well that -some- money will be left on the table, but I know it won’t be anything close to the amount this community would have you believe.
