Called Tesla again today, since I received an updated EDD 1/17/22 - 1/27/22.
(Previous EDD 1/15/22 - 2/12/22)

He said he sees a VIN potentially might be assigned tomorrow, and a delivery on 1/17 seems possible, given the car will be sent from Fremont to Sunnyvale.

Taking it with a grain of salt, as the forum suggests, but excited nonetheless. No word on Battery/Processor. (I don't think I care either)

You will never get a VIN if you don’t select cash or financing. The order will just sit until automatically cancelled.

The sad part is, I waited a month and just found out about this. Such BS.

No updates yet on my end!

Sad thing is I am in Southern California and I ordered on 12/20 and EDD was 2/20-3/20 wasn’t moving for a month. Then, I just found out about the whole “not in line until cash option thing” so yea, great. Did you set the cash option/ finish you profile way back?

Also what options did you choose for your car?

Can others confirm this is true? When I placed the order the Tesla rep said I can deicide on financial part once I am closer to delivery date.

So should I put in cash option right now even through i plan on taking loan out later?

All I know is I am still waiting, and it seems to be an awfully long wait for an OD on 8/30. 1st EDD was 10/21 to 11/20, 2nd EDD was 11/30 to 12/31. I put in my financial info on 11/29 and my EDD changed the next day to 1/5 to 2/2. On 1/6 it changed again to now 1/20 to 2/17.

Oh wow - I have never received any text messages. After I did my test drive, a received an email from the store, then I ordered online. That said, when I do email the advisor, he replies quickly or calls me back.

Not to be a Debbie downer here, but I received that text about 3 weeks ago. My EDD changed again since then. I am not even trading anything in, so yeah, I don't think that text is an indicator of anything really.

Yes, put cash and then have SA switch it to loan once you have a VIN assigned

Another element that makes me think that is true is that no one on here seems to have been waiting since August. I have a similar EDD window as most people who ordered around 11/30.

I called Tesla last week and was told that the car was on track for delivery around the end of the month. I’ve had about 6 EDD changes so I’m not getting my hopes up.

SA just told me "we see that your car is on its way so we'll be reaching out by the end of today or tomorrow to schedule an appointment..."

SA called and I'm scheduled for pickup tomorrow at 4p!!!

I got a VIN assigned to me back in December despite leaving all the financial stuff blank. Just an FYI.

If you just reply “Call” to one of their texts, you should receive a phone call from someone
