He means doing his financing through a third party, like his own personal bank, or credit union.

Financing through the "Tesla preferred partner" means they basically just auction your contract off to a pool of banks.

I fixed the original post .. my ODD was 03/06 -04/03 now it is 02/14-02/18

Don’t be afraid of Oct orders like mine
Most of us had a hold first for the not realized EV tax credit and then to receive the AMD processor and 12V li-ion battery

Yeah I've seen a few Octobers, have been seeing many December-Jan orders getting VIN's before them, and even the few of us still from Nov. Orders.

Yeah, I got my first VIN and MVPA and since it was a cash transaction, the whole sum of the car was the "downpayment".

I do not believe my current EDD is remotely accurate. It will keep getting pushed back. They probably should have just displayed "March" or Q2 as EDD.

Yes, completely normal then.

The downpayment is the amount of money that the bank is giving Tesla. You will have your own agreements to repay whatever it is you owe to DCU.

Just called my local Service Center (Charlotte, NC) since I still had no word or anything from an advisor and she told me that my car is scheduled to arrive on 3/7 with delivery on 3/9 but potentially sooner. Should be getting a VIN # in the next week.
Taking with a grain of salt based on other's comments about SA guidance but seems to line up with my expectation of late Feb/early March based on my EDD.
