I had previously used them, and recently met Larry, the owner when having curb rash repaired. Exceptional person, as well as his entire team of professionals. They always have several Tesla’s being repaired. And, are not new to Tesla.

Summit is about an hour from me, not too bad. I have a estimate appt on Monday with a local shop county line auto body which I know does great work as well and is Tesla certified. I will look into this shop also though, thank you.
Does anybody know, if I were to settle this privately instead of making an insurance claim will it still hit my car fax? There was a police report made

oh boy are you lucky you didn't have to get insured over in NY! I got mine for 180/month and that was a steal from what the other companies wanted. Geico 600/month, progressive refused entirely. I have a sqeaky clean record, no accidents, no claims ever
Just thought I would hop back on here. It has been just a little over a month since I received my car. I absolutely LOVE it!!! Blue with white seats. Love my white seats! I originally ordered with fsd and then Canceled after I received my vin, and then added it back after I had my car at home. Fortunately I was able to do all that with no increase in the price. My reasoning for all this was to avoid paying a higher personal property tax on the extra price of the fsd.
now that I have had the car for a while and played with the fsd and all the fun features I can tell you that I just love it. I am so happy with my choices. I use the TACC and auto steer all the time. Love the fsd and the navigation on autopilot. I will say there is a learning curve to all the bells and whistles- at least for me. My old car did not have tacc but did have cruise control. Part of the process is learning to trust the car. After driving it for a while you get to where you know what the car will do and you are much more comfortable with it. The lane change while in autopilot is great. I have about an hour commute every morning (and afternoon) and all the features are great. It makes my drive so much easier. Stop lights and traffic is so easy now.
i charge my car at night and always wake up to a full charge. Software updates for all the fun stuff keep coming. Now my biggest hurdle is figuring out Spotify and what music I want to listen to today ( old Sirius listener here).

Couple things I forgot to note on my original post...Michelin tires, no plate frame and no mobile connector or coupon for one. Used the J1772 adapter to take advantage of the free L2 charging at work today

FSD Beta is currently on 10.69.2. Elon has tweeted that FSD Beta will go out to safety scores above 80 after 10.69.2.1 goes out (a "polish release"). That would suggest that those of us not in the Beta will get it as of 10.69.3, which Elon says will come out "shortly after AI Day", and that's on September 30. Soooo... in theory, we should see FSD Beta at the beginning of October. I thought it would be delayed until the end of the year.
The fact that they're going with a score of 81 or higher is amazing to me. That shows a lot of confidence in that software.
I'm really looking forward to trying out the city streets capabilities, and seeing if anything has changed in the features that were moved to Enhanced Auto Pilot. Specifically the highway automatic lane change.

Now theyre making it hard for me to cancel my subscription lol. If it really goes out like that in 2 weeks might just pay for another month...
On a side note, I think their hand is forced here. They can't keep raising the price and then locking it behind a gate. Too many angry people willing to pay 15k and STILL can't use the software imo
Yeah idk. I have a sneaky suspicion its because tesla doesn't offer insurance here (yet) and so they don't have the same competiton. Plus if you sneeze wrong at a tesla its a 10K min bill.

If I recall, they don't install the front holder in CA for you.
Highway patrol doesn't usually pull over for no front plate. But if you get pulled over for something, they're tacking it onto your charge.
My delivery guy said over here in NY they started cracking down. And since tesla is the one responsible they need to prove to the dmv they did the right things to pass the car inspection. No front plate fails the inspection.
I've had this argument before and to each their own but imo why do you want to make your car illegal. Yes most cops will not pull you over but there is always that one who will. To me I just don't want to deal with it.
Edit: also around my area cops love pulling over tinted or no front plate. Gives them probable cause to see if the driver is dwi and/or stoned ( no I don't drive intoxicated) but even a fix it ticket carries a mandatory 20$ admin charge. So basically in long island anytime a cop pulls you over you are essentially getting a 20$ bill minimum

That's a fair enough reason. Definitely call them though asap to tell them that. It all depends on the SA so they may not even put it on but don't take the chance then
