Model 3 side panel dented

Last week I went over a curb to avoid road debris and have a scratch/dent on my passenger side rocker panel. I got 2 quotes one from a mobile dent repair guy you said he can repair and repaint the dent for $400 and a second quote of $5800 from an authorized Tesla repair center. Their quote is so long and complex I can’t understand all the line items. They said that Tesla debts can’t be repaired. They will have to change the entire rocker panel. Anyone have insight or experience on if that’s an appropriate quote. The 2 prices are so different I’m confused.

I’d go with the mobile dent repair, that body shop price is crazy expensive. As long as the mobile dent repair person has some good reviews, I’d pull the trigger, as you aren’t going to look down their for perfection.

I had rocker damage, worse than yours.

I didn't go to an official Tesla bodyshop. I went to the one my insurance rec'd. No problem to repair. Came out just fine.

Are there any details on *How" they did this? I live in Northern Ireland, not sure many places will be experienced in such a repair. I may have to guide them.

What did you end up doing? I recently ate a curb and got similar damage to my rocker panel.

I think it's metal not aluminium, so it could be stressed out (IMO).

Sorry, I missed this earlier. What I gather is that they removed the black plastic part on the bottom, and massaged the metal from behind while heating it. Then, respray the paint.

The after pic looks amazing. And the cost doesn't seem too bad. Mine looks similar to this. Any fellow Torontonians know of a good place to repair something like this and the approximate cost.
