Model 3 Window Gap/B Pillars

This site may earn commission on affiliate links.
I'm likely jumping at shadows, but just wanted to check with any other Model 3 owners whether these window to pillar gaps are normal.
- both left and right side images with windows in 'vent' and 'closed'

Having never owned a car without the standard 'door frame' connecting to the B pillars, I've not got much idea what's good bad or ugly (and should be getting the car schedule for a Tesla visit!) :)

Opinions welcome!

Edit: With the weather here in the UK the last 9 days, I've not 'noticed' any water getting into the car, for what that's worth.

Yeah they're normal - I had the same feeling as yourself. It looks odd and my first thought was will jet washing cause leakage? Well I have had mine washed many times and i've used a archer on the car myself (when a storm hasn't been passing) and can happily confirm i've had no issues.

It does look unnerving though! And I think it does contribute to the wind noise we get when out on the motorways. But i'm used to it in my machine now. So much so that i don't even notice it as much when I'm floating along the M60 around Manchester :)

Ideally they would have made the mechanism so the window moves up and slightly back and into a gap under a b-pillar panel (I know how it looks in my head even if it doesn't make sense on paper :D) - but no issues to date in this regard, and i've had my car since October 2019.

Hope you're loving it - I certainly am.

Shite but probably 'within tolerance'

Or if you get wind noise o_O they will probably want £80 or so to investigate.

Nice to see a proper set of what can be achieved - that was probably the shift that took pride in their work rather than the 'it i'll do' shift.

Thanks for sending those pictures over - glad i'm not going mad. I've not noticed any leaks, and the wind noise is within tolerance, so bit of a 50/50 whether to raise this with the service center side or not....arrrrgh. Suppose better safe than sorry - even if they do tell me sod off.
