Wiki Model Accessories Mega List / Cheat Sheet

I have compiled a list of all the Model Y accessories that I find useful, to possibly save other members the hours of research I’ve done, and lessons learnt from accessories that either did or didn’t work well on my M3.

I haven’t included items that I think are pointless, such as the screen protector, which is not necessary for protection on a screen that can’t be dropped, and not necessary for cleaning as the screen is very easy to clean with a dry microfibre cloth, and also not necessary for preventing reflections as I’ve had no issues with reflections at all.

If anyone has any suggestions for decent accessories then please share them, if I buy any of them I’ll add them to the list.

1. Tesla key fob: Model 3/Y Key Fob - Makes opening frunk and unlocking charge port much more convenient, also acts as a keycard even if fob battery runs out, meaning you don’t need to carry a keycard.

WARNING!!

Have you tested that child seat protector you listed? I had one that looked identical to the one you listed which actually transferred prominent black marks onto our white seats after a few weeks use which never fully cleaned up. It was that non-slip backing that did all the damage and it left a black chequered pattern on the seats. It was horrific! So I would be extremely wary of using any black rubberised child seat protector on white Tesla seats.

After I discovered this issue I used a soft white cotton towel underneath the child seat instead. That worked fine.

I would be very careful what I put under a child car seat. Be aware that most of these products that are meant to protect the vehicle seats are actually working against the goal of a child car seat. Don’t add something that makes the seats more slippery, like a towel.

I don’t think it should matter with the isofix points holding the seat in place, as well as the car seat belt.

I doubt it is necessary in the UK, but I have owned a Tesla in summer time yet.
