This a MX interior design issue, perhaps raised already but can’t find a post on it:
At night when finished driving and parked, the interior lighting does not illuminate the phone dock cubby. This is due to visual obstruction of the dome lighting by the front central arm rest. The cubby is where house keys, phone etc are stored so it’s hard to see what to grab.

Does anyone know of a workaround, fix, aftermarket solution for this? (Other than using my iPhone to illuminate it). Feels like there should be a small light in the arm rest to illuminate this area.

Thanks.

The actual cubby (the space under the MCU screen) has several 3rd party answers to make it more usable for storage (drawers). Rpmtesla.com, one of them, also offers small battery powered lights for the cubby and you might use one of them to illuminate the phone dock area.

(Never heard the dock area called a cubby but I do see it could use some light! The answer may be that people store stuff in the other cubby which has a better light line of sight and might have one of the drawers.)
