MY Door Trim Discoloration

I called McGuiar’s and they say the wash could not do that. The agent tried suggesting that maybe the car wasn’t rinsed completely before the product dried on the car. That is just BS as none of our other cars suffer from this.
He did ask for pictures which I don’t have. He also said that this is not a known problem with the Gold Class wash.
He also cautioned that WD-40 could damage the anodizing but I doubt that too.
If any of you have pictures and feel up to it, call them 800-347-5700 and maybe your pictures may get some solutions from them.

A rainbow effect on the door/window trim might be residue from the Cerkote ceramic finish. The damage to the door window trim on the Tesla Model Y that occurs when using very high pH detergents and hydroxide based cleaners can appear brown and mottled. Can you post some photos?

The McGuiar’s is only 8.5-9 pH and unless you’re dumping that on direct I doubt you’re anywhere near that… even with a foam cannon you’re probably diluting it down enough…

I settled on a cure, or at least a way of dealing with it.
WD40 sparingly applied to a microfiber and elbow grease, removed the marks.
Carry a synthetic chamois in the frunk and wipe the trim immediately after washing with any sort of car wash soap.
