My first post, question about production date....

Hi All, ordered a Y for my wife three weeks ago and received a text yesterday informing us the expected delivery date will be 2 to 4 weeks. My wife is very excited to receive the car and today we received a text from our sales person informing us that someone backed out of an identical Tesla, except this one has a tow hitch. I’m just now learning about Tesla’s and haven’t read any threads about production dates and whether or not it would be prudent to wait until we receive a later production or take delivery of this one that finished production yesterday.

Reason I ask the question, is, because of all the quality concerns (fit, finish and rear seat Alignment). Because of these concerns, I went to our local Tesla dealership and spoke to a specialist that actually delivers the new Tesla’s. I got lucky because he was chosen to go to the Tesla plant and school them on some common thread concerns with quality, fit and finish and he said they recently implemented some changes to correct these issues.

As much as my wife is anxious to receive her new Y, I’m wondering if it makes sense to wait for the end of September production, hoping the quality improves. My other concern is, according to my salesman after September productions that are slated to be delivered to the West Coast there will be a cut off point and they will start East Coast production. That would delay our Y until the next West Coast run if we don’t make the build date before the end of September cut off date, which Would delay our delivery until December. My other concern is, if we are at the end of a production run are they accelerating the line to meet all the orders for September delivery, whereby rushing the process and possibly causing more quality issues.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated
Todd

side note, Our salesman said that CDC has cleared Tesla to start home deliveries again, so we would be receiving our Y at our home.
