MW Motors has taken the wraps off their new Luka electric vehicle.
Billed as the “first production car to use in-wheel hub motors,” the Luka has a retro design that recalls a handful of different models. Starting up front, we can see circular LED lighting units, a chrome front bumper and a horizontal grille which appears to draw some inspiration from BMW. The car’s profile reveals front fender vents, an angular windscreen and a steeply sloping roof which meets a compact rear window. https://www.carscoops.com/2018/04/ev/

If you read the article, the performance is pretty, well, VERY mediocre.

But it looks great and I really like the idea/direction.

They need to position the 'eyebrow' above the front wheel well a bit more subtly. A bit like in the Mercedes Gullwing. Have the windscreen rake a tad more perhaps or 'wrap around' to lower drag.

I wonder if some of these smaller new ev companies owe a lot of their existence to Tesla years ago deciding to leave much of their work off-patented? If so, then a big thumbs up for Tesla for enabling niche players like this to put out interesting cars.

Wow. 50 kW/67 HP maximum output. That's painful. You know that anyone who sees that badge quickly will think it's a VW.

I like their retro styling attempt, though.

I was wondering where I had seen that style before! I knew I had seen it in some science fiction flick, but just could not pin point it. Thanks for bringing it up.
