I’m a 23 Model S owner who was excited to have my brother join the club last Saturday.

My brother took delivery of a new model Y with 2 miles on it on Saturday 2/24.

He was using the Service option on the App to set up a time to have a couple of scratches addressed when he noticed on the service screen:

He took the car back to Tesla today. They are looking into it. They told him that he had already taken delivery so rejecting the car was not possible now. They said to leave it a couple of days and they would investigate a fix. Alternatively, they said they could start a buyback.

Imagine this is your brand new car. What would yo do?

I see two paths here:

1. They fix it as a warranty item and hope it is a final long term fix( I want a more exact timestamp on that Drivetrain message. Did it happen before or after delivery)?

2. He starts the buyback process- which I expect would be a nightmare. He would probably lose certain incentive money like the 1 k discount for buying a Y in Feb.

Has anyone been through something like this on a new Tesla?

How would you proceed.
