New battery pack (2017+) longevity

In the list of the highest mileage Model Ss, one thing stands out. Practically all of them have had multiple battery pack replacements (and drive units), typically under warranty. They are also usually first gen cars (2012-15). I’ve heard that battery packs made from 2017 and up have much better longevity. Is this accurate?

The reason I ask is there is a 2017 Model S 75D for sale near me, 66k miles with FSD. The seller is in a hurry to get rid of it as he is moving out of the country so I could buy the car for under $30k. The battery warranty will expire in late 2025 however.

Gonna be hard for you to get anything other than anecdotal reports, but I put 175,000 miles on a late 2016 S75. Original battery and drive unit. Very reliable car. 75D even better choice because it doesn’t have the failure-prone large rear drive unit.
