That's interesting. I actually really like the current dark tiles. I agree, that brown is not appealing, at least from the sky. Wonder what that would look like from the ground.
They are the large size as well, so not so easy to make look like traditional roof shingles.
Yeah - the article suggests they are the "tuscan" style originally planned, but it does not look to have the curved shape (though hard to be certain with the images available.) It does look like the current "textured" tiles, but in brown. it is hard to say how it might fit in in an area with the tuscan/spanish tiles - the color might match, but it might still be really out of place.
Having previously had a slate roof and indicating that initially as our preference for solar, I am still interested to see how that will look if they bring it to market. That said, I really do like the look of the black textured tiles.
