I don't believe the bill would make it illegal to register the cars just to sell them without being a 3rd party dealer.

Seems as if it was held up in the state senate. Difficult to tell if origin of the bill is due to increased Tesla sales or because big-3 manufacturers could follow a similar on-line sales model. By their design however, ICE vehicles require a lot more parts & service.

They are worried service will be taken away as well most likely. They also attract people to their location with new and used car sales and hope they come back to them for service.

I really don't see why this is even coming up. Sounds like dealer franchisees want a piece of the action from Tesla.........
