I wasn’t impressed by the metallic of it on the Model S when I was at Tesla the other day , and changed to the plain black and use the $1500 I had for metallic blue towards another color wrap.

Other than the recent update to expand the financing details, no change to my account. I noticed yesterday that my address wasn't listed on my account properly. Concerned that might delay things, I sat on the almost hour long hold with Tesla after I corrected it. I had a friendly chat with the customer service rep who answered, and all looks well with my account. No delays due to the missing address info. All the "triggers" are in the appropriate condition for my order to move forward, but no VIN assigned. Given that I have a First Production config with the only variable being the new color, I'm sure the OBM choice is causing me to wait. I haven't seen any reports of OBM delivery dates anywhere I've been watching either.

What happened when you asked? Asking because I called on Saturday with the same question, was told I have a DA assigned, was told he would call me this week, and I'm still waiting for that call.

I have a name (but no number/contact info), and was told they'd contact me at an indefinite time in the future, but nothing yet. Since I don't have a VIN anyway, thus my car isn't queued for manufacture at the factory, I figured it wasn't much of a rush for me and they're busy enough getting vehicles they have built out to customers.

It doesn't seem that is always the case. Some people have been matched with cars that were definitely built before they've even ordered it (basically built on speculation, or it had to be pulled aside and rework so original order it was meant for was fulfilled by another vehicle?) but I believe I've seen cases of confirmed VIN before date of manufacture. IIRC car only has the month of manufacture on the door frame but the Tesla system stores exact manufacturing date so an employee like customer service can check that and via that people have reported having been given their VIN assigned prior to that exact manufacturing date.

P.S. It's getting foggier now to see when this is the case because Tesla stopped always displaying the VIN in your account as soon as it was assigned.

Call the Customer Support rather than the Sales number and asked for my VIN for "insurance purposes," got put on hold 3 times because I obviously hadn't had one assigned yet. My delivery is Aug 17th - Oct 17th and the rep told me I should be contact in the "coming weeks" to finalize my financials. So there's an update. LOL.
