I would guess could use it to like set your SOC to 100% and finish by 7am for when you leave on a roadtrip. It would only do it once and revert back to your previous SOC % setting.
It charges to the new set point, say 100%, once and then reverts to your normal setting, say 80%. (I always forget to set it back to 80% after charging it to 100% to start my trip, until the next time I get in after getting home and see it charged to 100% again.)
I am on v11.1 (2024.8.9) and it works fine for me. Unfortunately, this feature only works when I change the charge limit on my screen in the car. This feature is not available on my Tesla App (v4.32.0-2612), which is really pity because most of the time I decide that I will be taking a long trip next day while I am at home or in my office. Once I know that I need more battery, I change my charge limit from the App without a need to go to my car. It would be much better if this useful feature is available on the App.
