Ordered new car and feel regretted after seeing the CPO price

Allow the magic of depreciation work in your favor... My 2013 S85 was $104 new. I paid $75 for CPO (back in 2014).

It's still a gut punch that it's worth about $50 now (or whatever).. so that's $25,000 lost in 2-3 years of driving :(

But I will say this. Every-time I wrap my hand around that wheel... I smile. It was a crap ton of money, and I broke my own bank to have this thing, but you know what? I'd do it again.

I'm under warranty until 2019, so I'm in a great place to wait for the CPO S100D to fall to a price I want to pay. Or... Ideally.... we will know more about the pickup by 2019. (I'm a truck guy at heart).

Let's face it, AP1 is being ignored, and AP2 is still "under construction" humans have been driving there own cars for... hundreds of years. Get a non AP CPO car for "cheap" while the dust settles on AP2. then when the warranty is up, get your next one :)

As others have said, secure your home first. Then get the car.

Allow me to share more of my situation.
I have a condo already, fully paid. But the garage is narrow (93") to park a Model X. My wife wants to buy a (flip) house, to accumulate assets. I want to have happy driving every day...
Also, I will need to sell all my stock investment, $200000 is in Tesla, to buy the house. That's something I try to avoid...

By far this rings as the strongest argument. Besides, I love my car too much to let it drive itself. Why should it have all the fun? Non AP cars can be had at reasonable prices and with the bulk of depreciation already behind you, value should hold up better long term. I bought my nicely equipped MS 85 this past December for $54k with 22k miles on it. With Tesla's CPO warranty (which I think is by far the best in the industry), you can't go wrong. Put your money in your house!

I want to have happy driving every day...

And a frog wants wings so that he doesn't keep bumping his butt on the ground.

Don't put yourself in a hole for a luxury car. You do that, and you won't be "happy driving" any day at all. That MX will be an albatross. Don't ever, ever overextend yourself merely for luxury.

Now, if you can finance all this comfortably and hold on to your stock, then you might be on to something.

House first, deposit on Model 3.
Deposit will not be allowed to transfer to Model 3, I asked, and he said no... I know the car is not in production yet because they said end of March is delivery.

"
I’ve attached your original order agreement- the deposit becomes non-refundable after your seven days as the car is custom ordered and we’ll take on significant costs to resell it.
Unfortunately, we will not be able to transfer it to a new order either. Let me know if you have any other questions or ways I can assist.

Unless someone can help me find a strong argument. Or if I asked them to put it into a CPO order?

Just asked a CPO specialist, and he said no.

Me: Last question, I already put $2500 for a new car and it has been more than 7 days. Now I feel that a CPO might fit better to my finance situation. Is it possible to transfer my $2500 deposit to a CPO?
I think my car is not actually in production yet

Michael: Switching your deposit into an inventory would unfortunately not be an option at this point.
The parts for your car have already begun being

For this car: $91500 before any fee.

my current order, 100D is $114000 without tax and incentives but including $1200 delivery. Deduct that from the price, only $11300 + ($2000 less tax)saving, for a 10,000 miles car AP1 car and 90D range.
Not a good deal in my opinion.
