Palo Alto Service - Mike Garcia no longer there

my Roadster has been in for an #1144 fix and annual service for a week or so. I just got an email that Mike (lead Roadster tech there for a long time) has left the company.

Yeah, a long-time Roadster tech (who I think was the service manager) in Rocklin has also left. Time for us to train a new crew.

Maybe they are setting up an independent Roadster service operation (just being hopeful...)

You know even 20 something years later, they still have dedicated technicians for the McLaren F1. I was reading this amazing article on the sole technician responsible for the US and other North American F1s still in service. The Roadster though not as rare and collectible as the F1, certainly is a historic vehicle.

It would be awesome to have a few independence Roadster guys that could still service our cars and keep them on the road!

Interesting and bad news. I was relying on Mike's helpfulness and competence. Who knows who's going to take care of my Roadster now. :-( Is there another well-known specialist in the SF Bay Area?

Are you referring to Randy Filippi? He took care of servicing our car when he was in Menlo Park and has been helpful to us as we have stopped in Rocklin for charging on our way to points east.

Yes, Randy. I think that was his last name. Not sure where he went, but his presence in Rocklin is already missed.

Hey Adrian, mine (#103) has been there the past week as well. Robert has been working on it. Anything I should know? This is my first trip there.

Johnny (sp) in Burlingame is either the assistant service manager or the service manager. He is quite good IMHO. Last name omitted, but if you need it, please send me a PM. Has experience with very early 1.5 Roadsters.

I got my car back today, running fine, they cleaned out the fans and the #1144 alerts have gone away. Also did an 8 year service and changed brake and coolant fluids. I have just over 40K miles on the car now. I wasn't in a hurry to get the car back as I was out of town anyway until today.
