Panoramic Glass Room Coating

Took Delivery 3/23/19.

After it rains the panoramic glass above the driver and passenger turns purple but the glass above the rear passenger seats does not. Is there a different coating on the two separate pieces of glass and why?

Yes, it's a reflective coating for IR. The back glass on newer cars just has a IR blocking coating, I think. There's a bunch of threads on this.

There's 3 iterations of this design:
1) Top glass and ALL of back glass have red tint when it rains (early production models)
2) Top glass and a portion of back glass have red tint, but not the very bottom (mine has this, May 18 production)
3) Just top glass has red tint, back glass is normal (latest production I think? There seems to be multiple part numbers)

I think the newest cars have no red tint on the roof at all.. I’ve never seen it on my 4/16 build. Kinda bummed really... I thought it looked cool. Oh well

Do you suppose it still has the same level of protection from the sun even though the coating is different?
