Paris Motor Show: It's electric
Really like the Mercedes. It looks a lot like a regular Mercedes with their classic look. Not like BMW did with the i3, where they took their classic look and made it seem like it had been put into a vice and crushed to make it shorter and stumpy.
I like the looks of the volkswagen
seems distinctive withouth being too radical
also mercedez has been teasing
nissan has been teasing
there is the new renault zoe with a 41 kWh battery and 400km range
another volkswagen video
new mercedez video
mercedez press conference
Do you have an Opel Ampera-e press conference video? I wasn't able to watch it live.
The VW concept car looks like a cross between the Tesla Model 3 and the BMW i3. I kind of like it and this is a good step forward for VW in my opinion.
i am so pleased that major auto companies are going electric. I really think that without the push from Tesla it would not have happened so soon and so widespread. I just hope the dealer system does not remain such a road block to wider adoption. As long as the financial incentive is so strongly tilted towards ice cars, seeing as how repair and maintenance work makes up a large part of their profitability, it will be a big problem. And really who can blame them. Makes me wonder if independent dealers selling just ev's would not work better, perhaps a dealer combining several brands.
VW: Here's our 250 mile sci-fi concept car that we'll make in 2020.
Renault: Here's our 250 mile Zoe that you can buy next month.
2020 is not a long time for a project like this. Lets hope its for real... But I think it would be better to have something like the Zoe and the Ampera-e.
I'm confused about the nissan video tough! "A Revolution is Coming" and the revolution is just a new micra version? doesn't make sense
In case you are talking to me I don't have it, sorry
a part of the ampera-e presentation
However...I was laughing watching the VW "ID" video with the presenter describing all the wonderful features of the car because it sounded so much like the over 100,000 S and X vehicles that Tesla has built over the past 4 years. Yet the VW ID won't be for sale for another 4 years! But better late than never.
Of course some of the VW ID features that were described Tesla doesn't currently offer, like the "augmented reality" display, whatever that will be.
Tesla will continue to lead the EV field for a long time. I am glad that the other companies are starting to wake up and smell the electrons.
the opel youtube page has some new videos about the ampera-e
this seems to be the full ampera-e presentation
I'm really digging that Merc SUV. I hope the front stays the same except to lose the fake grill lines:
the mercedes and the VW concepts would be amazing if they were ready for production or one year away even without the autonomous driving or those futuristic interiors,
But in reality they are many years away from production.
I am sick to death of EV "concepts". VW and MB and Audi and Ford need to start producing real long range EVs. At least GM is finally doing something real with the Bolt. It may be unattractive and lack a fast DC charging network, but it is a step in the right direction.
