Passenger Side A/C

I think a few months ago there was an update to the Y that made the car more efficient by turning off the passenger side A/C if no passenger is sitting there.

I love having the AUTO A/C on so it always keeps the vents at a certain temperature. Now that the passenger side doesn't automatically turn on, I'm finding myself always really hot, since only the driver side is on and that isn't enough to cool the interior on 100 degree days here in SoCal.

I know how to manually turn the vents back on, just push the vent on passenger side, or the bottom right button for the rear seats. But how the heck can I put the passenger vent to AUTOMATICALLY turn back on every time like it was before?
