if you're at that stage, the PA should be there. If you can't find it, give the main Tesla number a call and ask them to sort it out for you.

Been trying to call them all day. After a few menus, the automated message says they're closed and their normal business hours are from 8 to 5 on Sundays. I've bee trying since 9am, same message.

The purchase agreement is different from the order agreement, right? That and the lemon law pdf are all I see.

I just now went to a local showroom and service center. The guy was way more helpful than my assigned guy. He looked up my car and it's already onsite! He generated and emailed me the purchase agreement to give my bank. The SF guys should be calling me to schedule a delivery date this week, preference being this coming Saturday. Apparently, personal check is ok for the remaining balance, which was not the case last year for my wife's M3.

FWIW he said the feedback they got from preorders when they used to reach out weekly with updates was it was too much, so they were told to not communicate until stuff was more definite and built. I could so this being true and probably worked fine when the 2 week estimate was closer to reality.

7/29 Red/White FSD. The end is in sight.

That order is too recent. He must have been assigned a stock car. Perhaps the car was too far away to be assigned to you and that's why he got it instead.

IIRC they still give priority to existing Tesla owners as well, so those of us who are first time buyers might be getting pushed behind those who are buying their second Tesla.

Not a Tesla owner, but I did put down the $1k deposit years ago. I thought they didn't give that priority anymore though. I don't see VIN in source code, so I asked the SA for it.

We live within an hour of each other, Its probably just a fluke, bet I get a VIN soon too. Also I doubt that are prioritizing existing owners because I am an existing owner and seem to be at the back so far haha.

Ooooh, progress this morning!! Here's my recap so far -
  • AUGUST 8 - ordered online.
    • Car configuration -
      • Model 3 Long Range All-Wheel Drive Performance
      • Performance Upgrade, 20" Performance Wheels, Autopilot
      • Pearl White Paint, Black and White Premium Interior
    • The order confirmation page said "Estimated Delivery: within 2 weeks from order placed date".
    • I live in Marietta, GA and the delivery will be made to the Tesla Service Center in Roswell, GA.
    • I'll be paying for the car in cash. No trade-in.
  • AUGUST 13 - got an email from a "document specialist" at Tesla -
    • "I am your delivery specialist. I've looked over your account for accuracy and it all looks good. We are just now waiting on a vin."
  • AUGUST 24 - received text message -
    • "Thank you for ordering your Model 3! We are waiting for a few finishing touches to be made on your vehicle. Please expect another 3-4 weeks before we reach out to schedule you for delivery."
  • SEPTEMBER 8 - received text message -
    • "Your Model 3 is in transit and ready to be scheduled! Select an available delivery appointment time now at tesla.com/schedule/RNXXXXXXXXX If you have not selected an appointment by tonight, we will assign and notify you of your delivery appointment. A Tesla representative will reach out to confirm your appointment before your delivery day." (I am masking my actual order number with X's.)
    • I clicked the link, and was offered delivery dates of Sept. 17, 18, and 19. I chose the 17th at 10am.
    • Checked my Tesla "manage" page. For the first time, it looks different - now, instead of "Next Steps - We are drafting up your contract and will contact you when you can make your final payment," it says "Please pay off your remaining balance prior to delivery". It also shows my Delivery Appointment details. No VIN is displayed on the page, but when I do "View Page Source" and then search "5YJ", sure enough, there is a VIN in the source code, with the last 6 digits 4873XX. (I'm masking my actual last 2 digits with X's.)
Well, this is exciting. I waited a total of 31 days between my order date, and receiving a VIN. Now, let's see if the Sept. 17 appointment holds true. If so, that will end up being a total of 40 days from order date to delivery. (I've updated my response for the Model 3 Order Tracking Spreadsheet.)

This is very helpful. Thank you & Congrats!

I ordered 8/11 Blue/white performance with 20" wheels. I never received a text or heard anything since I ordered. I'm in So cal. Still waiting for a VIN. I'm at 28 days now so maybe i'll hear something soon.

Got my VIN and delivery date. They emailed and text me yesterday. The email said I can pick up the car on the 13th, but the text has me picking up the car on the 17th. At least I know ill have it soon, hopefully next weekend.

I think they got confused with their time estimate. They meant an estimated time of 2 months not 2 weeks. At least we know they are coming now.
