Phone Charging Takes 2 Tries?

So for some weird reason, whenever I plug my phone in to charge (iPhone, usb to lightning) nothing happens at first, but when I unplug it, and plug it back in, it starts charging. Does this on both usb ports.
Anyone had this issue?

We had that happen for both the driver and passenger phones. I thought maybe we hadn’t pushed the phones fully onto the lightning adapter the first time. It seems like half the time it takes two attempts as you describe.
