If you have ceramic coating or a ceramic type wrap it might be time for some Ceramic Boost. Also, wash microfiber in detergent free wash, cold water only.
Use vinegar in the rinse cycle to help break up the phosphates that harden the fibers. Dry on low and only wash mf towels with themselves, NO cotton!
That stickiness sounds like my ceramic coating before I boost it, no matter how good of condition the towels are in.
