Hard to see what the material is though. Is it leather wrapped or some other material?

So that's how they do the collision avoidance! You can't hit anything with that!
Software not being ready won't cause delays since it can be updated at any time. Better to do what they're doing know and start production, work out the kinks in the manufacturing process, and ramp up the speed while, at the same time putting the final touches on the software. Hopefully they'll get the software completed right about the time production really gets going. The alternative would have been to not even start production until the software was ready, in which case we'd still be waiting.

Not really. Imagine if they had released some of the early cars to the big reviewers and then those reviewers would have hit the 12V battery issue mentioned during rocketman's delivery video. Also with EAP not yet available, it would certainly open up another box of rightfull criticism about the car not being 'ready'. So far they've succesfully avoided those two PR disasters. Idle FM radio speculation on a forum is minor stuff they can live with.
I doubt that it would be too bad if it’s the same material as the seats. But that’s why I’d like to know what it’s made of. Definitely doesn’t looks like there is much glare in the photos, but I think recycled storm trooper outfits would be pretty reflective.

I agree. I wonder what color it will be for the cream (if they offer the cream interior on the 3)? I'm guessing it will be similar, just cream colored.

I'm guessing it will be some kind of matte-finished plastic.
Edit: I meant hard plastic, not soft, like the material that covers the seats. That makes more sense to me to match the general physical attributes of wood, vs padded vinyl.

It looks like a matte finish, so probably not a glare. But, it certainly looks bright-white, so it will likely be fairly distracting being right in front of your face.

I'm sure there will be other options eventually. If not, aftermarket will step up or people can do their own wrap jobs.
I heard RPM Tesla is already making a nice carbon fiber wrap for the long wood pieces.
