    Driving visualization temporarily degraded message

I just started getting this message on 36.10.:( Hopefully there's a fix coming soon. EDIT: I'm on HW 2.5, no FSD.

Why would someone choose a Polestar 2 over a Model 3?

Because they want an electric Taurus???

How can I delete recently played Slacker stations

Does anybody have an actual answer for this? I've been trying to find a way myself. Just because I wanted to play a certain song once, doesn't mean that I want a "<that song> radio" station permanently in my recents list.

Issue with water getting trapped in door

Did you ever get this checked out? I had it happen for the first time yesterday, one day after a hard rain. The water sat in the door for a full day+ before I opened it and it came pouring out. This is concerning for rust reasons. I don't think the entire door is aluminum. What I don't...

Is anyone really getting this yet?

    Software Update 2018.39.5 a1c2332 (first 9.0 release)

Well, if you think about it, a modern cellphone doesn't inspire a very interesting icon. So it almost had to be some kind of retro icon, or a boring rectangle of some sort.

Software Update 2018.39 4a3910f (plus other v9.0 early access builds)

Hmm... My car has chewed through 6-7 miles of range in about 30 minutes since getting home from work. Why might that be??? Is downloading a really power-intensive process??

Do we know if anybody is getting the 39.x updates over LTE?

    Atari games coming . . .

This was exactly my first thought as well. I'm very curious how this will work. I'm guessing that it will be very sensitive, and that you won't have to turn the wheel enough to cause any wear. Think about how wide the track is on PP. You won't have to turn the wheel much to go from one side...

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

I just found out from my ISA that my car is sitting in Lathrop, CA, waiting for delivery to Texas. I hope it's in one of the new bags!! :( It's VIN 420xx, so hopefully it hasn't been there long! I'm waiting for my CarMax match and then my final payment amount so i can pay it and get the car...

Surely somebody else lives in that area, don't they?

Plus, when people can get a $7500 discount on the car, they are more likely to order expensive options that they might not have otherwise. Take me for example...I ordered LR when I swore I was waiting for SR. So, the small delay will guarantee them even more revenue and profit.

Again, production of the AWD/Performance version not starting until July. So those are NOT them.
  15. plankeye

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

They aren't starting to build the AWD drive cars until July, so it's not that. I just think they're trying a new wrapping method(not new in the industry) to fix paint damage issues. Those super-wrapped cars might be on the front of the truck, or going a further distance by truck, thus the need...

Is it cloudy every morning in Fremont?? What happened to "sunny" California? Possibly another reason I wouldn't ever move there.

I just ordered my Model 3 and this location didn't show up as an option for delivery. :(

Found a LOT of Model 3's in a Tesla lot - Pictures inside

Actually, I don't think the current run rate is even all that important. I think we're close enough to 200K deliveries in the US that they're going to have to throttle deliveries to keep from hitting 200K before 7/1. What will matter more is the run rate in the last couple weeks of June, when...

It will negatively affect both. But the range hit will the most easily noticed. Of course, I have no idea how much of a negative affect. You might try doing some searches to see anybody has posted with actual numbers.

Dang! I live in Frisco too!!! Very near the 4 corners of Frisco, Allen, Plano and McKinney. Since I'm not an owner, I might not get mine until early summer. :( I plan to go see the one in Southlake on 2/11 though.

The aeros look sweet without the caps! Nice and shiny! It makes the rims look so much bigger too. Will look great on my white 3!

It just disturbs me that we can see so much wheel well in the first place. :(

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Ah, yes, that makes more sense. Hopefully they pull it off! Would like to do that myself, but I'm afraid I'll be stuck with stock aeros (not that I'm complaining) I lowered my '95 Civic and I don't want to risk issues on my new, $50K car.

That's some chunky-ass rear rubber! Looking nice! And finally the correct amount of wheel well gap! Autopilot looking good too! Sorry for all of the !'s It's just all so exciting! :p

No, but only because they are just a bunch of processed crap and not real food.

Tesla is not the only manufacturer with this issue. Here's an Audi A6 with the exact same problem. So let's stop acting like Tesla is the only one with this problem.

Unfortunately that doesn't matter to me, since I stopped eating all animal products over 5 years ago. :(

It looks like a matte finish, so probably not a glare. But, it certainly looks bright-white, so it will likely be fairly distracting being right in front of your face.
  36. plankeye

    Pictures of production Model 3s

I'm guessing it will be some kind of matte-finished plastic. Edit: I meant hard plastic, not soft, like the material that covers the seats. That makes more sense to me to match the general physical attributes of wood, vs padded vinyl.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

I agree. I wonder what color it will be for the cream (if they offer the cream interior on the 3)? I'm guessing it will be similar, just cream colored.

    Pictures of production Model 3s

This wasn't a good shot? Certainly easy to see that the dashboard strip is white!

Looks amazing from the rear! That's exactly what mine will look like. I'm getting SR though, and cream or white interior.

I think the paint is shiny, its just hard to tell in most pictures of the white cars.

I've said this several times in various forums. You're the first other person I've seen talk about the rims being too wide for the tires. Along with them not looking good that way, the rims are very susceptible to getting scratched/rashed. I suppose the one positive thing is it probably helps...

    Pictures of production Model 3s

Agreed. They could have simply done a blog post to say that production has started, and that initial cars are going to employees and that "true" customer deliveries are targeted for 4th quarter. And they could have given links to the specs that they revealed.
  43. plankeye

    Pictures of production Model 3s

I don't believe it's to protect S/X sales. If you want bigger, faster, or a "real" dashboard, you have to get an S or an X. So, I don't think it really matters what a few folk's opinion of the 3 is. Plus, only so many people have the income to casually switch to getting a $70K+ car. So, if...

    Cream interior

Yes! The carpet also being cream is what makes me want to get it in my Model 3 (if they offer it!!!)
  45. plankeye

    Cream interior

That's the tan. With the cream, the center console is also cream. It's obviously black in these pics.

Me too, except with a white interior (I hope). Just don't know when. :(
  49. plankeye

    Model 3 RC sightings

I think one thing I don't like about it is how wide the rims appear to be relative to the tire cross section. I just don't like the "tire is narrower than the rim" look. Plus, it's a lot easier to damage the rim when the tire is narrower than the rim. And the little rim protector flanges on...

    Model 3 RC sightings

Since it's possible that production will start in less than a week, they are probably ramping down the testing. After all, what could they possibly change at this late date, based on very recent testing? Even the cars we've seen in the last month; what could they have learned and what can they...
