The Model 3 does not have the chrome bar in the back between the tail lights. Also the handles shape is different. This is the easiest way to spot the differences.

The Model 3 does not have the chrome bar in the back between the tail lights. Also the handles shape is different. This is the easiest way to spot the differences.

I find the quick and easy way to tell is the shape of the tail lights from the side. The Model S angles down, and the Model 3 angles up.

@riggerjon was kind enough to bring his 3 to a Tesla meetup today in Austin

I would guess there were 150+ people there, and I saw at least 40+ Tesla’s.

Great time meeting with a lot of people who are all excited for the same reason

Yay for Colin! He was my SolarCity rep when I got my PV system installed a couple of years ago. Sent him a congratulatory note.

The original prototype with the white interior did, but not clear what production cars will have. Pic below.

I'm not a huge fan of the shiny black on the console for the very reasons you mention as well. However, I don't care for the white either. I'm sure that would get dirty, scratched, or even possibly discolor over time.

I do really like the white seats (actually hope the cream color is available) and don't mind the white on the door, but hoping the lower dash part is not white and especially not the console. That may be deal breaker and stick with the black interior instead. Otherwise could wrap those pieces in something else. Will reserve decision until see it in person.
