Pilot Sport 5 replacing Pilot Sport 4 - equal curb protection?

Hi guys

Wondering if anyone has replaced the Michelin Pilot Sport 4 18” tyres which come on the Model 3 RWD as standard with Pilot Sport 5 tyres?

If so, is the rim protection the same as the PS4, or is there less protection?

Keen to know before I make the change.

One can buy PS5's down under already? In the states, they are only starting to trickle in, but only as OEM tires on some exotics. Haven't seen them for sale anywhere.

There's PS5 and then there's PSS5. The PS5 are the touring tire, and have been available for a little while. PSS5 are the ones you're talking about going on exotic cars.
