Plug patch in Winter Tire

I recently got a piece of metal in my tire, brought it to a shop I trust and they assured me it can just be repaired.

They patched it with a patch plug, the one you put from inside the tire. And told me it's no risk / no reduced performance of the tire etc.

Is this the case? Since it's mounted on a Plaid S I'm being overly cautious.

(Attached pictures of the foreign object in the tire & patched tire).

Thanks!

Rest assured, your local shop performed an USTMA approved repair. Here is a LINK that describes the process followed to assure a repair is done correctly.
