Just had to reject second Model Y at Portland.
Ordered at launch in 2019, MSM/black, Dual Motor, 19”, FSD.

First attempt a few weeks ago was great but had a row of 4 dimples/dents in left rear quarter (VIN 5577)

Today’s try had two windows sticking out of trim, scrapes from impact on front bumper cover, right rear door so far off it was gouging into rear quarter, both front fenders poked out past edge of headlights, several scratches on interior trim plastics (VIN 8954).
I’m sure some people would be happy with either car, and I have had great support from Portland service on my 2018 3. Just not impressed so far, I really hope Fremont can clean up their output soon. I’m about to make my second loan payment just to keep playing the Model Y lottery.

This sounds really bad. Sad when you waited for so long and end up with a disappointment. Do you mind posting a few pictures if you took them ?

Just stopped by the Washington Square store and a red demo just came in. Someome had just finished test driving it. Could still see some very minor fit and finish issues.

Thank you so much , My delivery was smooth on Saturday however minor imperfections were there . Not too much though . I am kind of happy but learning the tesla ways . And yes you are right , this is my first tesla and infact my first car :p

If this is first Tesla buying experience, sorry, There’s a lot of difference in current covid world. The touch less delivery experience is mind boggling. If you have a trade in, you will need to go inside and talk to people, they will hand you the rfid card keys and just follow the instructions inside the packet inside the car. Drop off all the signed forms in the red box and drive off.
Ensure you do a thorough manual inspection of the car and photograph any issues. When car is registered on phone, send in service request to get issues addressed (incl original photos). If some is unacceptable just go back into store.
Btw as store is in King County face covering is required.

This sounds like it might be your first Tesla, likely worth reading the manual ahead of time: https://www.tesla.com/sites/default/files/model_y_owners_manual_north_america_en.pdf

Other novelty of touch less is that it takes about 3-6 hours to get your car listed in the app, which is required to associate the car with your phone tone a key. Until then you have to use the rfid key. You can tell this migration is starting when the new car does quick update and reboots (also, don’t panic if you park and your car reboots while you’re configuring it - as happened to us ;-))

Got a text message yesterday that my Tesla would be ready in 1-2 weeks, but could be earlier if my config becomes available earlier (Blk ext/Wht int/AWD/LR). I’ll be picking up from Portland. I placed my order in January and I check my Tesla account everyday. I’m so excited!

Picked mine up today in Portland. Spent about 30 min looking over the car. I was surprised that there weren't that many issues after reading the forums. Two spots for very minor touch up paint, a small scratch on the windshield, very minor adjustment to the door and as many said charger door sticks out a bit. It was a pretty warm day. Once I got home, found a few other very minor issues. Overall, very happy with the car. White with Gemini Wheels.

So I picked it up today, only issues
Picking up my car on June 20th at Bellevue. Can some please share the inspection checklist if you have one.

I picked up mine on Wednesday in Bellevue, and used this list. He mentions around 30 things, and I only had about 2-3 issues total. trunk gap that may be impacting the rear gate engaging properly (issues 1 & 2). Also there was a minuscule ding on the passenger door. Scheduled appointment to fix in two weeks.

Congrats to whoever picked up the car without less / no issues..

I didn’t take delivery of my car today at Bellevue, WA. Car arrived Bellevue on June 15th, since I could only take delivery on saturday I left my pickup unchanged. Called few times before making my final payment to see if the car is all good and has been inspected. Till yesterday the service rep said the vehicle is all good and inspected and good to go.

Today when I showed up to pick up, first issue glass had hair line crack just right above the driver seat for almost 1 feet. Still we were willing to take delivery as they said they will fix the glass next week. Next started to look at the other details of car. Lots of paint issues, swirls / paint holes on the frunk hood paint, tail light alignment, scratches on the inside panel,... we did sticky notes for each issue and stuck it on the car.

The delivery specialist and the operations manager came in and said that they are going to keep the car and have the service team look at all the notes stuck on the car. For sure they have to change the glass roof, they are going to see if they can replace the whole hood. We haven’t rejected the delivery yet. Waiting to hear back from the service team on Monday.

It took almost a month and I had to refuse two cars to get to delivery, but today they finally came up with one that wasn't bad, just a couple minor trim pieces that need realignment, and a single spot on inside A pillar fabric. Overall very happy with the car, no trunk/frunk/paint issues. I'd refused VIN 5577, 8954, and today accepted 1337x (cuz it's leet :) AWD LR/MSM/Black/FSD/19"

Don't give up hope! They have terrible paint challenges (I blame being the only auto manufacturer in a state with zero VOC requirements), and assembly has been a mess, but they'll get it figured out.

Does anyone in Oregon know the expected time frame for getting license plates at the moment? We picked our Y up on May 23. Temporary registration expires in mid-August. I assume that since Tesla submitted the registration information, the plates come in the mail. Is that accurate?

Not sure about the current wait time, but last time I did a registration in 2018 it took about 6 weeks for the plates to show up in the mail. They aren’t quick.
