    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

Those rebound numbers are probably set too firm for normal driving. In my experience anything 9 or lower number for rebound will cause the car to be too firm against rough road and especially upset (significant side-to-side impacts) on paver stone streets. The compression of 13 is fine and...

Any tips of removing suction cup and sticker marks from windows?

My May 2020 build had cloudy windows from the inside. I spent a lot of time thoroughly cleaning with good glass cleaners- Gyeon, Invisible Glass, McKee’s, clay bar and the haze was still present. Luckily this worked: McKee’s 2020 Cockpit Glass Cleaner It takes more effort as it applies as a...

initial recommended settings (from MPP Coilover Installation Instructions | Mountain Pass Performance): front 12/12 (compression/rebound turns from full stiff) rear 10/8 (compression/rebound turns from full stiff) I've been tinkering with my settings to strike a better daily-driving balance on...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

I think you’ll like 10/9 in the rear, with 9 being rebound- turns from full stiff. That rear rebound adjustment seems to make the biggest impact in comfort and firmness, roll stability for this car.

    Ear pain/Pressure help

Thanks for the update and I agree with your thoughts. To reduce the floaty-ness, and get handling that’s significantly better than stock Performance, try these settings especially as the shocks get more miles and become even better: front 12/12 (compression/rebound turns from full stiff) rear...

    MountainPass Performance Comfort Coilovers

14 turns from full stiff on all adjustments would be the setting for maximizing comfort. Each of the dampers have different manufacturing tolerances (oil valving.. like your yard faucet) so while the 14 turns is what to aim for, you might not quite get there. You’ll likely feel hard...

I applied some butyl to the inside of the front fenders also, for areas I could reach, did about 50% coverage so as not to add excess weight to the car; tapping the outside of the front fenders sounds much more solid.. not sure how much of this noise translates or can be heard to the interior...

It comes in sheets with very strong adhesive. No tools necessary to apply except to trim with scissors but good idea to degrease/clean the surface, unless applying on top of the butyl layer; I’m a avid car detailer and use Gyeon Prep (essentially isopropyl alcohol surface prep) before applying...

    Ear pain/Pressure help

I personally would not go as far as taking out the rear seats (and asking Tesla Service to do it will likely involve them putting in a permanent note on your car's history that this operation was done and will haunt you re: warranty / resale). If you have bothersome rattling from the car's...

While possible to remove the PE foam, it will be messy, similar to removing any foam tape which may easily shred the foam while leaving the adhesive backing on the surface. With enough effort and Goo Gone, it should come off completely. The butyl tape once cured may be very difficult to remove...

Anyone know of a fix for the rattle caused by rear seat middle head support/ headrest?

If you remove the back panel from the middle seat with your hands (the yellow clips), you'll be able to inspect whatever is making contact by pounding the headrest. To fully remove the panel, you'll also need to separate the top handle with a plastic trim removal tool which actuates the seat...

Horrible protection film from Tesla store

Rinse it off gently under the faucet and see how much has lifted. If it’s just the small corner portion, it would make more sense to reduce product waste by trimming it with sharp scissors and while doing so, round it off and you’ll forget there was ever an issue. The small corner area should...

2021 Model Y lots of road noise rumble on stock 19's - any advice for improvement?

I have the 21” Michelin PS AS4 tires and Mountainpass Adjustable Comfort Coilovers, rpmtesla noise deduction kit with extra sealing added to hatch (will address a lot of boom). The most significant fix for all the road noise has been applying butyl and foam sound deadener inside the front wheel...

While I can count the number of times my wife has mentioned the ride being bumpy (I know she's avoiding hurting my feelings on this car), prior to the MPP coilovers, it was the net effect of increased anxiety I noticed on everyone after riding in the car while I drove in the same relaxed pace as...

With good surface prep (alchohol wipes) should take about an hour and easy to do; watch the install video on rpm’s product page. apply as much downward pressure on it as you’re torquing it down; there’s a few mm of play but every bit helps to ensure the hatch is as firmly held against the body of the car to reduce any movement if hatch has trouble closing/catching, I would recommend applying lubricant to the catch such...

Mountain Pass Performance: adjustable rear camber arms installed

@52 16 57 39 not sure if you posted this elsewhere before- what rear camber numbers were you getting before the MPP camber arms after the spring drop? What will you set it to at the alignment shop? Also curious to see what sort of rear tire wear you were getting.

    Model Y horrible paint

I can't speak to its impact when you sell/trade. That's likely your best route if you choose to keep the car. It might be an upsell for a private sale. On the other hand, removing a full wrap involves long hours of labor, and could peel off paint (early Model Ys had paint peeling issues...

    Model Y horrible paint

That makes me feel better that it's not a newer build.. at the same time I'm disappointed that Tesla had kept this car for a year surely knowing of the defect and why the car was rejected/returned and never bothered to fix it. Tesla recently started selling used Model Y and I always wondered...
