Poor headlights, EU nosecone MS

I think the light output on our car is really bad. Thought i read some where due to EU restrictions they had to put lower wattage ballasts because the headlamps are missing auto levelling? What upgrade options do i have?

The lights are different depending on year of manufacture. They recently changed, and were changed 3 or 4 years ago in USA.

Also, if you have the Tesla Air Suspension, it auto-levels the car, so auto leveling of headlights may be redundant since they should remain level.

The LED lights on my 2020 US Tesla were different from the 2015 Xenon HID headlights. The new 2021+ active matrix led headlights cannot be installed and work correctly (Connector and logic different), but some members are working to try to do it. You may be able to upgrade to the LED headlights, but they are rated poor in the US version. The 2015 Xenon HID headlights are proabably better than the LED headlights in US. Probably not worth trying to upgrade. I would imagine there are similar issues in the EU version.

Thanks for your reply. I was thinking about an aftermarket kit, hid bulbs and ballasts. Any suggestions?

That should be available -- at least they are in the US.
