Post-Covid Quality?

Anyone take delivery of a vehicle this week, presumably completed after the re-opening of the factory? Curious if the build quality seems better than before the shut-down, the same, or worse?

I'm having a hard time understanding why it would be any different unless there is less staff on the line.

Less staff, staff turnover during shutdown, big rush to make up for downtime and get as many done as possible before end of Q2 - all possible reasons why quality could be less than optimal since starting back up again.

I think it's great question. I can't stand 1 hr of grocery shopping with mask and gloves on. How people can work all day with PPE has to affect them.

Some tasks that used to take two people might use one now.

Also restarting a production line can have glitches regardless of COVID.

It's certainly possible it has no impact, or even an outside chance of it being better. But odds are it will be different.

All good points; on the other hand, Tesla was supposed to be using the downtime to make improvements to the line. Seems possible the build process is more automated, paint shop upgraded, or pace is slower given the lower expectations. Plus, they’ve had time to hear/see all the complaints of early build quality and specifically respond to those issues.

Not getting my hopes up, but mine is in transit for delivery on Thursday 6/4.
