What makes you think that part of their total compensation isn't volume driven? I've seen it said in other posts it is.

you can't hold a tesla delivery/sales person accountable for price changes just like you can't for a dealership. they don't know what corporate will do just like a dealership doesn't know what the 'rebates' or special offers are before the 1st of the month.

Price can change after you order the car.

I was lucky to order on Jan 17, wait for delivery until Feb 7, and have my online price/loan agreenement lowered/changed the day prior to picking up my p3d (price changed on feb 5 I believe. Got the lowest price with free supercharging for 6mo.
