Purchasing car with two required signatures

My dad and I plan to have both registered, but we live about 400 miles apart.

Would telsa allow my dad to sign the paperwork at his nearby telsa dealership and have the paperwork FedEx to the one nearby me ?

Fremont location would be place where I would pick up the car.

Or does telsa allow electronic signature ?

The purchase documents for all three of our Teslas were done electronically. The only in-person signature is the acceptance document we signed when we picked up the vehicles and, in that case, I believe just one party needs to sign to accept the vehicle.

When I left the company, they became SUPER enforcers of both parties being present to sign off for delivery. The main reason for this is compliance with the DMV and banks. Technically, both parties need to be present at delivery on the date printed on the documents- especially because cash and financed deals also require a "Delivery Declaration" to be signed. If you leased it, it may be a bit easier to execute documents since there wouldn't be a need for a DD, and the lease contract can be executed digitally.

You may be able to convince your DS to have your father go into a Tesla location and sign the paperwork (without dates on the DMV docs) with a delivery specialist, and overnight them to your delivery center. This is not something technically Tesla can do legally, but for the sake of avoiding an EOQ loss, they may allow it.

Just signed up after being a long time director of Tesla motors clubs to tell you that they have become extremely extremely strict about having both parties present when getting the car. I have the same situation as you and they almost forced me to run a credit check without a cosigner because it would be impossible for them to give me the car without both cosigners present. However, I was able to convince them to overnight the documents for the signatures necessary, but they won’t even allow any faxing or electronic documentation. This has set my delivery date back a week or so now.
