Yeah they're shorter 1/8 mile street drag races by racelegal.com. Still fun to see though, this "every day driver family sedan" is capable of putting out such power at drag strips.

That same P3D driver, 17 runs that night, 17 wins.

Meh, i really don't get very excited about these drag strip runs after seeing them once or twice. Sure they are fast in a straight line, but i really want to see Tesla improve as a track car with Model 3.

Like it or not, this is how P3D gets noticed by car enthusiasts. It helps sell the product. There will be plenty of track videos once Track Mode goes public.

For sure, but i think that straight line speed like we saw with Ludicrous mode was only Stage 1 of Tesla's mission to prove that EV's can beat ICE in terms of performance. They now need to show improved duration with high power output (which P3D can do with track mode) and also that it can handle, which again P3D seem capable of doing.

I'm semi-concerned that we haven't heard more in terms of a release date for track mode though...

Why concerned? Pobst drove P3D with beta Track Mode to 1 second of the fastest ICE sedan on the track in Streets of Willow. I wouldn't get concerned, seeing how Tesla is in middle of V9 launch and Q4 profitability push.

Why concerned?

Because we have no idea when it's coming and i don't want it to take 3-6 more months, one of the main reasons i bought the car was based on the reviews which Tesla gave to LOTS of people with Track Mode turned on. If they are going to show off the car with Track Mode, the least they could do is tell us when to expect it.

I won't be moving the needle at all, but I plan on posting a track video after my event Thursday.

Hey, the new Hero 7 is pretty bad ass if you've got the spare change. Otherwise you should hopefully be able to find some deals on an earlier gen model.

I have a hero5...just can't find it after the move a few months ago. I know it will pop up 1 day after the return period to best buy is over. :/
