I have been noticing a few stories of cars being struck from behind while driving at highway speeds. Some of these incidents involve fatalities. I personally know of two people who were injured in similar incidents.
I was wondering if it would be possible for Tesla to develop a rear collision warning system using data from the rear camera. Perhaps a design that could activate a warning light on the rear view mirror and a warning tone, on future cars, that would detect rapidly approaching vehicles, whether one were moving at highway speeds or stopped in traffic. On current cars, flashing a warning on the screen might work.
