Hi all, just wondering if someone can shed some light on the rear PPF that's now preinstalled on certain Model Y's? I see some people getting deliveries with it and some without.
I picked up my MY LR on 5/28 in Cincinnati and mine does not have it. I ordered and received the PPF from the tesla store and will be installing as soon as I go buy the baby shampoo they recommend using.
I picked up my car last Friday and it did not have it from the factory but it does now...put it on today it was pretty easy. It totally needs the PPF there.
Just picked up ours today and no ppf and no passenger lumbar. We installed mud flaps as soon as we got home. Car looks amazing though! Paint, panels, etc. all fantastic.
As of May 2021 it appears that Tesla is installing factory front mudflaps and PPF on the rear doors of Model Y vehicles destined for customers in select NA markets (Canada and the northern US States (States not specified.) Note: In some markets Tesla may only be installing the PPF.
my car delivered in Atlanta does not have it either. I don’t know why they reserve it for northern states. All states have issues with road debris and gravel.
Took delivery of my MY on 8/27 and no rear PPF or mudflaps in NJ.
I had the ppf from abstract ocean due to the tesla site having them backordered.
Simple to install.
Protect your Model 3 or Y from snow, salt, sand and other small road debris that can cause wear and tear on your paint surfaces with our paint protection film (PPF) kits. We use Xpel Ultimate Plus film, generally regarded as one of the best, if not the best, PPF available.
