Hi! I own a Tesla Model S 75D from 2018. Rear view camera worked fine until last week. First it started streaking purple and green and now it is completely black and no longer shows any video feed. This makes parking very hard!
What are common reasons for this? Can I fix it myself? I already tried a reboot (both scroll wheels) but this did not help. I am out of warranty now :-(
I have a feeling that it is a hardware defekt, not a software problem since it came gradually and there was no SW update during that period. Maybe a cable broke from open/close of the trunk? I already yanked at the two cables coming from the lid, but no change. An other suspicion is that water permeated into the camera housing and started corrosion there and now some connection is interrupted.
Where could I buy a (used?) replacement HD camera and how much do they go for? Anything to look out for so that it will fit into my Tesla?
