We’ll there is 1! Though it’s not meThat’s perfect for us Blue-ers who get theirs much faster!
I have not heard anyone from Tesla say "Benches" are the issue and Plaid I believe is a non equipment issue, I thought it was mentioned to be regulatory.I really don't think its a matter of higher $$ seating getting first priority as much as it is availability of the bench seat. It's a sad state of the world we're in right now that shipping and product manufacturing/distribution for even things as seemingly simple as a bench seat aren't so simple.
I think nearly everyone who I've seen with a new X has missed out on some or all floor mats, because again, it's an item that is hard to get right now.
If it were TRULY all about $$, they'd punt every non-plaid and only make 6 seat plaid models, but that's not happening.
Please excuse my ignorance (I'm not a huge car person and this will be my first Tesla) and I'm not trying to be facetious when I ask: Why do people care much about the difference in 0-60 mph acceleration time between the LR (3.8 seconds) and Plaid (2.5 seconds) to justify paying significantly more for the latter? I understand if you're racing cars, but other than that use I am baffled.
Maybe it's because I live in Chicago and there are almost no situations where I could even test the 0-60 mph time because city driving often isn't conducive to that type of acceleration. However, even if I lived in a more rural area, it doesn't seem to me that big enough of a difference in acceleration time to pay that much more, but clearly I'm wrong because plenty of people are willing to pay it. A 3.5 second 0 to 60 already seems very fast to me, and much better than most ICE cars! Unless there are other differences between LR and Plaid that might make the difference more stark
The zero to 60 is important to to some for getting off the line first at a light or cutting off that teenager creeping to the line across the street. To me flooring it except in an emergency is begging for trouble. Most Tesla accidents are loss of control due to speed. Some very experienced drives can handle it be the masses not so much. I won't lie, on a highway on ramp I will flow those electrons but I see video of people flooring it in neighborhoods which to me is insane. As Stan Lee put it best... "with great power comes great responsibility" RIP StanThat means the plaid is 35% quicker — and that’s no joke. If it’s your drive-around-the-city car, it probably makes no sense. But there are plenty of stop lights in the ‘burbs, even plenty with merges ahead where only one of you can be first… plus bragging rights.
I don’t even have that option lol. My SC is closed, destroyed and boarded up. I also never got an SA to call…. But judging by the comments here I think I am better off without one to be frank.walk into the SC 'showroom'. They'll sort it out.
What fresh hell is this?It looks like they are changing my VIN….after I spent time to contact insurance and getting loan paperwork going.
Wow.It looks like they are changing my VIN….after I spent time to contact insurance and getting loan paperwork going.
It looks like the SA deleted off part of your message. They meant to say “Don’t worry, everything will be just fine. We’re sending that one to SteveinATX but you’ll get one in ‘January’!”It looks like they are changing my VIN….after I spent time to contact insurance and getting loan paperwork going.
What the heck is that? Some person put the Model S Plaid delivery event badge on a pre-refresh Model X that IS NOT a Plaid?Talking about plaids; ain’t the badge worth it all?
Congratulations!! The color and wheel combination looks excellent. Enjoy your new MX. Let us know if you see any issues which can help others to check during delivery.I'm happy to see many of you have became VINers since my last post. Congratulations! Here is my delivery timeline and experience.

I know Tesla's lack of communications is frustrating but once you finally receive your car, you'll forgive all the neglect. The sooner you can accept this gospel truth, the less heartburn you will have. Trust.
- VIN received on Friday 11/27/21 pending delivery date - profile status remained at "we're building your car" January EDD (never changed to TBD)
- on 11/27/21 (same day as VIN) I Emailed my SA to ask him to reopen my finance page as my previous loan approval expired. Got a call from customer service to confirm that finance page is open and that the car is still in Fremont going through final collision inspections (during conversation I learned it had to do with airbags safety). He said it'll be sent on its way to Southern CA upon completion
- on Saturday 11/28/2021 - applied through Tesla with Tesla preferred lender. Got 2.49% APR 72 months. Decision/Approval was almost instantaneous.
- App updated with delivery date scheduled for 11/30/2021, 4:00pm. Pick up location was supposed to be Costa Mesa but Telsa changed it to Irvine SC. (note: a rep told me they just moved to Irvine from Costa Mesa. I didn't ask if Irvine is in addition to SM or replacement b/c I didn't care).
- Monday 11/29/2021 9:00am- got a call from Irvine SC to go over delivery process, and confirm payment. He also confirmed that the car has arrived and was onsite at their center. I told him i'm waiting to see my pre-refresh credits before I complete payment. He said it will show within 24 hours of scheduled delivery so check in the afternoon. That afternoon, I saw the credits and adjusted price. Completed payment on the app.
- Tuesday 11/30/2021 morning - completed e-signing all documents on the app. At 3:00pm - got a call from SC asked if they can have more time to prep the car before delivery and offered to deliver it to my house free of charge due to the inconvenience. I told them they can keep it as long as needed because I'd rather them get it done right than to rush to meet an arbitrary deadline. He was very appreciative and told me he'll call back with more accurate delivery information when the car is ready. At 4:00pm -they informed me that the airbag light came on during their prep delivery inspection. They'll need to keep it longer fix and I was removed from the delivery schedule. App status now says "TBD" .
- Wednesday 12/1/2021 10am - got a call from SC to inform me the car is ready. (note: He said mine is the 2nd X received in Orange County).
Hope to see everyone on the "Refresh Model X Issues" thread soon. Good luck!
Awesome! Hope to join you in the issues thread soon! Blue color rocks. CongratulationsI'm happy to see many of you have became VINers since my last post. Congratulations! Here is my delivery timeline and experience.

Can't wait to see it locally. For what it's worth to others, the Costa Mesa delivery center closed permanently. It was too small. Irvine is a larger center.I'm happy to see many of you have became VINers since my last post. Congratulations! Here is my delivery timeline and experience.
