FWD door alignment is a series of compromises - if you fix it one place it's worse somewhere else. Luckily they managed to get mine pretty straight at the factory where it's most noticeable (rear fender and door handles, but taht means there are some other spots (notably the "shoulder" of the door where it lines up with the C pillar/hatch metal and window trim) that isn't perfect, and it also isn't perfectly flush with the shoulder of the rear fender flares on either side, but it's maybe 1/16-1/8" here and there, and it seals perfectly and makes no noises at all. So, keep that in mind when asking for alignment fixes, making it look good can make it not seal, at one of the 10 different seals it has to make and make correctly, or squeak, or whatever.

I'm old enough to remember when hardtop convertibles were too complicated and expensive to fix and keep working properly. Imagine a car with two hardtop convertible tops, that don't and can't open or go back toegether the same way every time, and have to seal at points that get absolutely pummeled in the rain, and have sunroofs built into them and have to avoid pinching people's fingers off in many, many, many different pinch points and also avoid head knocking things and avoid objects above them and next to them...it's pure ridiculousness. I want to paint it like one of my French cars

What was the suspension setting? It has to be on Low/Very Low for max accel. The 0-60 spec is supposed to be on-par with a Long Range 3 w/ Acceleration Boost.

The LR 3 + Acceleration Boost is about equal to the P3 at 45mph onwards. The 0-30 of the P3 is where it has the advantage over the LR3 w/ boost.

I think about changing to the Plaid X at least once per day, but at the end, the small difference in range and efficiency is more worth it to me. If I were to get a Plaid, it would be an S. I want the X as a people mover, and as long as it's as quick as my 3, that's all I need.
I assume you mean rate of acceleration equalizes in the 45-60mph range. The LR isn’t going to catch up to the M3P.

This is an excellent list...thanks!
If you or someone else has some time to donate it would be great if this (and the checklist) could be turned into a downloadable document with photos. Where appropriate the photos could show examples of the problem as well as how the location looks when there is no problem.

I'm in the same boat. My SA was not sympathetic - they'll hold it for me for 3 days and then give it to someone else. Supposedly, we can give power of attorney to a friend and have them pick it up
It's hard when they can't give you an accurate delivery date/slot (after VIN) and then expect you to be available instantly after waiting for months/weeks!

Got the call from Giovanni today about my Plaid 7 seaters. He went through how they are simplifying production on the Plaid so it’s only going to be offered in 6 seats. He said he can move me to a six seaters and get 3k adjustment going from 7 to 6 seats “upgrade” and as an inconvenience credit (aka the free upgrade to 6 seats). I declined and the only option I have is to change to the LR model with current pricing. I am very disappointed with them.
There is a trend here and it's leading to a seemingly obvious resolution.

1 - They start calling early-order LR folks with 5 and 7 seats to "take delivery this year by switching to 6 seats"
2 - They do not deliver "this year" to most of those that got the call
3 - They Change the website so that new Plaid orders are only 6 seat config
4 - They start calling Plaid 5/7 seats to EITHER change to 6 seats OR switch to LR at current pricing
______
Next - Change website so that all new Plaid AND LR MX orders are only 6 seat config
Then - Start calling LR 5/7 orders and require a switch to 6 seats

This seems like a bit of a stretch. I highly doubt they're going to eliminate all but one seating configuration from what is no doubt the most popular trim of the MX.

Well everyone, the big day has arrived. After nearly a year of waiting and waiting and waiting……

My twin girls are arriving today!

Sure, I wish that I was driving them home on Monday in my new X. Those FWDs, presenting beautifully as I strap them in to their captains chairs for the ride home.

For now though, I’ll just have to settle for my new girls. And hey, at least this is something to take my mind off the X for a few days. I’ll cut down my page refreshes from 20 to 5 or something.

Wish me luck!

Congratulations! Wow, twins. You definitely have your hands full!
