Congratulations! Love the addition of the bow. So now, where do you live? I might stalk your car everytime I’m around the area.

I live in a Fungeon with Elon's Musk and Kathy Bates' cat, Cathy. We take road trips in the Model X to church followed by the local bath houses, and we drink tea.

is VIN DAY!
Yes I know is a 2021 VIN but that is not a problem. There is no reason to reject this. I work in the auto industry and it is still a new car as long as it has never been titled and miles are prior to its first title. It will be as magical as a 2022. I didnt hide any of the numbers since it does not matter for all of those here that never believed me that i got the call for an order in Q3.
Cannot wait !.

This does mean that it was VIN'ed earlier than an N-build right? I just got a new VIN too and it's an M as well. My previous VINs were Ns, so this is weird. Wondering if this is one of the X's that sat around at Fremont waiting for parts.

For all of us suckers considering FSD.
Yes, I am replying to my own comment! My quick feelings about FSD: the video in this article sums up my experience in that I was cajoled by Tesla employees years ago to pay for FSD, which turned out to be vaporware.

It's a little insulting to ask buyers to pay a massive sum of cash for a product that Tesla knows doesn't exist now and may not exist for the life cycle of the car for that particular buyer.

Not to stir up more debate (we covered this hundreds of pages ago), but I am also extremely skeptical of the utility and safety of FSD in the hands of the masses.

Thaaaaat saiddddd, a few weeks ago, I clicked the button to add FSD. I wanted to see if it moved my EDD at all. Or, I am a glutton for punishment. Maybe both?

If I end up buying FSD, I may try it on occasion. The only features I really appreciated before were summon (only for tight parking spaces, using only forward and backward) using autopark (only if I thought I was gonna curb a rim trying to do it myself), and occasional highway driving while opening a bottle of water or something.

The price bump is a shame, cause if I really wanted to buy it, I was planning on just doing it after the fact, and using a credit card to recoup some points and avoid a bump in sales tax. To clarify, if I wanted the 10k pricing, I had to add it before the recent bump. An interesting tidbit: I have an old MXP order and a new MXP order (changed color; was going to wait to see if both became available at same time, and I'd just choose the color); when I went to add FSD to the old order, it gave me the 10k pricing, even though it was past the date of the price bump, but the newer order showed the 12k pricing. If you have an old order and are still considering FSD, it may still be priced at 10k.

Most likely yes sitting at Fremont pending parts. Doesn't loose value. We are happy it didn't come our way till she was ready to come home.

Just got bumped to July EDD from April. It’s like 2021 all over again. Ha. This can’t be a placeholder unless all 7 seaters were moved to July EDD. Maybe that’s when they think supply chain issues will lift? Any other 5/7 seaters get moved to a different date?

W/w/7/20/FSD originally ordered November 2020

I got bumped too. It's probably not helping to have an early order pre price increase. I mean post price increase for pre refresh orders but pre price increase for post refresh orders. Or whatever. Plus 7 seats.

I picked up my MXP yesterday. Weather did not cooperate and it rained for the duration of delivery.

Thanks for the detailed checked list. I checked the items I could, given the weather. I did not find anything obvious that was missing or needed fix.

My thoughts on the car
1. It's an excellent car. Very quiet and plush. Amazing tech. I did not find any panel gaps, or paint issues. But rain prevented me from doing a thorough check on paint.
2. I can hear some squeaks and rattle in the car. The most annoying is somewhere around dash, when the car goes over rough surface streets. And, San Diego has a lot of such roads. I have setup a service appointment (it's after 6 weeks).
3. There was no USB thumb drive for sentry mode. Should I have gotten one with the car?
4. The car had both floor mats (front and second row). Should frunk and trunk have a mat as well? I asked the delivery specialist, and the answer was no.

I am not 100% sure if Plaid is worth the extra 30K.
I'll post some pics when the weather improves and I can get it out in the open.

Thanks for the heads-up. Hate to post “me too” but I didn’t see any 5-seat posts, so… see updated signature. 🙄

1/27/21 order date. Moved to July 22 this morning. Thankfully I ordered a model y with a march delivery date.

Tesla hired new quality control people. Model x quality has been horrible for the price so rumor is they are going to be making changes to ensure quality is better hence pushing peoples delivery dates back. Quality may be better but definitely more standardized.

You lucky dog! you are defying all the odds here... You dont have a plaid and you're not in California... Those are usually the only folks who get a VIN that quickly these days.

Congrats on the new car!

I can answer some of these... Yes, USB thumb drive should be in the USB port in the passenger glove box. Service Center should be able to get you a due bill for one. The frunk stopped shipping with a floor mat a few versions ago, sadly.
