Replaced MCU, Tesla wants to keep part of my old MCU (need legal argument)

OP in the end, did they give you your old part? Did you pay a core fee??
No. I told them I would not pay for the part once they told me there would be a core charge even though they said otherwise earlier. The issue is always the same being the eMMC is worn due to Tesla cheaping out on parts and excessive logging of data. So it's not a matter of if the MCU will fail but will it fail before your warranty expires. I got screwed multiple times due to it failing before 4 years even though I was a tad over 60k miles at the time, MCU2 announcement for older cars was made shortly after that, the core charge they tacked on after they initially said I could take the part, the 12V battery they made me buy even though there are no signs that it needed to be replaced. I do have that part though.
