Replacing US Charger with EU Charger

Has anyone ever imported a US car into Europe and replaced the charger with an EU (Type2/Mennekes) one?

I am not an expert, but you would need to replace the charge port and probably the left rear taillight at a minimum. Plus probably there are some internals to deal with, and firmware.

US version have single phase system vs. EU version equiped with 3 phases. So you must replace charge port, cablings, chargers, contactors etc. I guess no one did it because of the expected high price for all these changes.
