Russia/Ukraine conflict

Wish it wasn't true, but that is what the signs point to. Trump is definitely anti Ukraine, pro Russian and there has been more than one article saying that Trump wants to use the border policy as a major issue during the presidential election.

I thought Trump was all about america first (and only after that worry about money spent elsewhere) /s

From Ukriane Matters on Youtube. Allegedly:

Reportedly, many russian pilots are refusing to go out on the sorties.
It is mentioned that they do not feel safe as they cannot understand what caused the immense spike of Ukrainians shooting down russian planes.

My message to rusnya: Be afraid, be very afraid.

Slovakian Dictator hugger Fico will allegedly have to defend Slovakia without an Italian SAM battery:

Italy withdraws the SAMP/T air defense system from Slovakia, as it is needed elsewhere, - Fico

[Russian Dictator hugger] Fico chose his side and [Italy] reacts

We must not fall into the trap of thinking that anyone who has had dealings with Russia can’t be trusted to give a neutral opinion.....but somehow must rely on people with no intimate knowledge of Russia to give us an understanding of the situation
Agreed.

Grazie! The more Russian kit we destroy in Ukraine, the less we'll need to knock out over Italy (or Ithaca).

Forward defense FTW (finally).

Favoloso!

Sidebar from the vassal state of Belarus (via yesterday’s Toronto Star)

The pro-Kremlin Lukashenko, who lashed out against any church officials siding with the protesters, last month signed into law a measure requiring all religious organizations in the country of 9.5 million to reregister with authorities or face being outlawed if their loyalty to the state is in doubt.

(…) For me, it’s like virtual reality during the war. In October 2023, the Ukrainian Book Institute counted 422 bookstores in Ukraine (in 2019 there were about 300 of them). The increase in the number of bookstores shows a demand for Ukrainian books, for a new Ukrainian worldview. There is a feeling that a new Ukrainian generation is being formed right now…
(…) Some were stolen by our enemies and some we sold ourselves. The books were printed in Russian, because they have a much larger circulation. Songs were sung in Russian, because the audience was bigger and the profit was higher. So it was just business. We must always remember that for money you can sell not only your skills, your talent, but also your country…

Vote on Ukraine aid maybe coming after mid March.
Quote:
Johnson has not yet taken a position on the plan or committed to giving it a floor vote, telling his colleagues that they need to finalize government funding legislation first. But once that process is done by mid-March, Republican backers of the plan believe he will let it come to the floor – even it risks backlash from hard-right members or even a vote for his ouster from the speakership.

Bits and pieces, Claremont in southern California, midway between Los Angeles and San Bernardino has a small neighborhood of stone built houses called Russian Village
Both Alaska and California host Russian Rivers. But that’s peanuts. Moscow has infiltrated throughout even the remotest parts of the country:

And with that shark-jumping silliness, let’s end this.

The first thing that pops into my mind is a picture of Lucy pulling the football, yet again, just before Charlie Brown is able to make the kick…
