What fraction of the drones that ukraine appears to be using are domestic in origin; of those from elsewhere, what fraction appears to be of US origin?
There's this from February: Ukraine to produce thousands of long-range drones in 2024, minister says

I recall in the beginning of the war 2+ years ago, Ukraine was buying drones from Turkey (the Bayraktar drones?) but then started buying a lot of Chinese off the shelf drones and modifying them. From the article it sounds like they are buying parts and designing their own for a lot now. They claim to have purchased 300,000 drones in 2023 but don't breakdown where they are from.

Belarus scared of Ukrainian attack.
Quote:
Belarus is accusing Ukraine of getting ready to attack by sending more troops, weapons, and US-supplied military equipment to the northern region of Zhytomyr, which borders Belarus.

“We have information that Ukraine is amassing troops, weapons, and military equipment near our borders,” Lukashevich said. “In particular, American infantry fighting vehicles, multiple launch rocket systems, heavy long-range artillery, and other equipment have been deployed in the Zhytomyr region.”

Can't believe this is the current policy. War Crime Trials will not bring back the Dead or Heal the Permanently Injured.

Russia’s Most Dangerous Jets Are Parked In The Open A Hundred Miles From Ukraine. But Kyiv Needs Washington’s Permission To Strike Them.

Voronezh Malshevo air base is off the target list for now.

Voronezh Malshevo air base, in southern Russia 100 miles from the border with Ukraine, might be the most important—and most vulnerable—target in Russia. [...]

From the base, Sukhoi Su-34 fighter-bombers belonging to the Russian air force’s 47th Guards Bomber Aviation Regiment fly daily sorties lobbing powerful glide bombs at Ukrainian troops and civilians from 25 miles away or farther.

The carnage is staggering. [...

Since you went there 🤣 .. the entire US Space industry was built on the foundations of multiple literal Nazi SS officers smuggled out of Nuremberg trials via Operation Paperclip.

Eyewitness accounts of his prison laborers say that he dutifully turned up to work in his Nazi SS uniform 🤢

On the other hand, Putin personally lost his (elder toddler) brother during the Nazi siege of Leningrad and he was buried in a mass grave there. But that doesn’t seem to stop anyone from calling him Putler. 🤦🏻‍♂️

"Butwhaddaboutisms" not only demean this thread, they diminish their poster. And when they are not germane to the thread's topic, that's yet another strike against.
The preceding is the mildest response from your Moderator that will be presented regarding the subject.

So does this mean that no-one is allowed to counter SPadival's 'petty' attempt to solicit some kind of sympathy for the Russian Dictator and Mass Murderer?

Ukraine says border guards are just for protection against another attack.

I know we live in bizarro world these days, but there was an attach launched on Ukraine via Belarus in 2022. Shouldn't that negate any btching from the Belarussians about Ukrainian troop movements, like, forever?

Russia's been attacking the west through propaganda lies, our elections and even actual sabotage through its spies, hackers and proxies for decades. This is nothing new. There might even be a few in this forum.

Russia wants to confront NATO but dares not fight it on the battlefield – so it’s waging a hybrid war instead
"Putin has made it clear he sees the war in Ukraine as part of a broader conflict with NATO"

-Well, then IMHO it's gonna have to be a 2-way street; the answer is for the West to stop dithering and obliterate Russia ASAP.

They are resorting to what weaker powers frequently do when fighting a superior force, they have resorted to terrorism.

I didn't have time to read the article, but the headline suggests Biden isn't open to Ukraine membership now. That doesn't rule out membership at some point in the future when the war is over.

Piece of history that was in the news lately. Saimaa Canal.

Built by Finland to connect lake Saimaa to the Baltic sea, from Lappeenranta to Vyborg around 1850-60.

After WWII Russia took territory of Karelian isthmus, city of vyborg and parts of the canal and ended traffic.

Finland leased the land from Russia afterwards, and is still paying about 1,2M€/year. Still!

There is no traffic on the canal anymore, it all ended after Russians invasion war to Ukraine.

Finland should support Ukraine by unilaterally terminating that agreement ;)

Or on the other hand, perhaps continue paying for it, as a stark reminder/warning for stupidity in th future ;)
